Seeing Light...Looking Up

Things are finally looking up for The De La Cruz Crew- Oscar finally had back surgery and come to find out he had 6 fractures, not 3! No wonder he was in so much pain. That surgery took place Monday and this is Thursday and he seems to be feeling much better just really sore. The next step is taking out his adrenal glands. The doctors will be checking his cortisol levels Tuesday of next week to see if they are at a low level before the surgery, since it is major surgery and he is high risk they want the cortisol levels as low as possible. If all is ok, the surgery will take place Sept 2 and both adrenal glands will be removed, followed by a 5-7 day hospital stay. If the surgery is a sucess my hubby love will start losing weight, feeling much better and his bones will strengthen some. That will make Mommy happy! Thats it for now..I'll keep you posted!

Mini Vacay-

This last weekend, we took a mini vacay to get away. Friday afternoon we were Corpus Christi Bound. We loaded up and headed out. We got there Friday evening and called it a night after a great dinner at La Playa Mexican Restraunt. Saturday we threw on our beach wear and headed to the beach where we relaxed and played in the water until Little Talanator got stung by a jelly fish...Daddy jumped in the car and headed to the pharmacy for Vinegar and Mommy stayed with Talan. After long crys and screams, vinegar, pee pee, and Tylenol- My lil man was back to smiles. We soon headed back to the hotel. Sunday we packed up and headed home. It wasn't quit long enough but we enjoyed it.

On another note, FINALLY OSCAR is getting the back surgery done this week I believe- So happy for this and just so ready for him to get back on his feet!!!!
